I’m pretty sure the email feed service is having issues. I apologize to those of you receiving posts a week old, I’m not exactly sure what is causing this. I’ll do my best to resolve the issue before Monday.

Apparently blogging your opinion on a local condo development could get you fired, sued, or both! Lucas Lechuga, of Miami Condo Investments, was the lucky recipient of a $25 million defamation lawsuit from Miami developer Tibor Hollo for writing:
”My opinion is that this development is doomed…”
And:
“This developer went bankrupt in the 1980’s and I think we’ll see a repeat performance within the next 6 months. What do I know, though? I’m no real estate oracle.”
Apparently Hollo didn’t go bankrupt in the 80’s and wants to set the record straight. Meanwhile EWM’s Ron Shuffield felt the blog illustrated a negative connotation and plans to review with their 800+ Realtor staff the do’s and don’t of blogging…
I believe this whole thing has been blown disproportionately out of the water, starting with an exorbitant $25 million for defamation. How can anyone quantify that much in damages to begin with? Luckily for Lechuga, the lawsuit likely won’t hold much water in court according to herald interviews with local attorneys. From what I can tell, this has the appearance of a glorified publicity stunt amid a crumbling housing market. Who am I to say anyway? Only time will tell…
Not Exactly sure what caused the Speaking Out! sidebar widget to lock up on us, but, I’ll be spending some time today pretending that I know how to edit the CSS to fix it… Till then, stay tuned, there’s a bunch of news out there for us to cover including Kirk Nielsen’s comparison between our sad bike infrastructure and that of Copenhagen’s….
It’s back! Email, that is. Thanks to the reminder I received from Walter, I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon (5 hours) importing all the old blog posts from the previous site. I had to complete the imports in order to not disrupt the regular email function. The emails are powered by feedburner and I’ve been using them myself for the past few months. I should note however, that readers will receive a daily digest which is sometimes a day or so behind schedule. In other words, you may still want to visit the site for the most recent news or to leave us some much appreciated comments! I’ve also taken the liberty of adding everyone from the former list to the new one, as well as some of you regular readers…
On that note, after reaching a plateau from November through February, Transit Miami witnessed unprecedented growth last March with our best readership and user involvement ever. While we have reached an all time high for daily visitors, remarkably our Technorati ranking has dipped severely. If anyone perhaps can think of a reason why, let me know. - Well, I don’t know if anyone has noticed or not, but, I’ve gone about the arduous task of importing all of the previous blog entries (one by one due to blogger’s lack of an import feature…) This process is going rather slow, but, the archives should be back up within the next few weeks…
- Also, you may wish to update your links; seeing that Transit Miami is now fully accessible through www.TransitMiami.com. Yeah, I cut the blogspot back out of the domain again. However, you may notice (IE users) that you can’t access the page by typing in just http://transitmiami.com (minor glitch I’m working to fix) unless you are using firefox which will add the www in for you…
- E-mail service will be returning soon, once I resolve an issue behind the fact that Ryan’s Posts do not get sent out via e-mail for some odd blogger reason or another…

Oh man, is it great to back in the blog sphere. I’d like to thank everyone for their patience as I switched blog platforms from the wretched godaddy quick blog software back to blogger. Things took a little longer than I expected (like most Miami construction projects) and I will still be doing some work on the site over the coming days to really get it up to what I want, however, you all will not incur many daily outages as I will try my best to conduct the updates on the weekends or early morning hours. That being said, I’d like to hear what you all think of the site. I’d like to also thank Rick for convincing me that Blogger was the way to go even though Rebecca tried valiantly to sell me on the wordpress format. Alesh, please don’t flip out either, we all know you aren’t exactly fond of blogger, but, I am still on my own domain…
