Yesterday morning I took the scenic route back home from the synagogue, going down all of Lincoln Road Mall, to the Oceanwalk Promenade, then up 5th St before heading home (see the MapMyRide.com Map). On a whim, I decided to count all the bikes I came across my way, whether parked or with riders. Everyone [...]

…….And We’re Back!
We here at Transit Miami have been working tirelessly to fix some coding errors which occurred over the weekend.
Thanks for your patience while we sorted these problems out – I can’t guarantee that we’ve fixed them for good, but, we now have a better understanding of what brings down the site periodically.

How about some bicycle racks on the Metrorail trains?
Miami Dade Transit allows bicycles in the last train car, but there isn’t a safe place on the train to store the bicycles. On Sunday there were 10 bicycles in the last car. It was impossible for people to get in and out of the train because the bicycles were littered throughout the entire car; [...]

Why Miami 21 Should Not Be Delayed
So it is after four years, countless meetings, and hours of testimony over the fate of Miami 21, that we still find ourselves fighting for a walkable future for the city of Miami. It is absurd that the new mayor (and longtime foe of liveable cities) is requesting that the fractured City Commission vote on [...]
2009 MUTCD Is Here
Now you’re probably asking, what’s the MUTCD? The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices sets the standards for striping, signage, and signalization across the country. If a traffic control feature you want is not in there, you’ll have a hard time getting it installed on your road. The US Department of Transportation just released a [...]
Miami 21 Under Attack By New Mayor
Sent by a Transit Advocate:
Friends, many of you supported Miami 21, a new zoning code for the City of Miami that, among many advantages, improves transitions between high and low-density areas. The City Commission happily approved Miami 21 by a vote of 4 to 1.
However, this Thursday, December 17, the Mayor is forcing the City [...]
