The City Commission approved Miami 21 on second reading with a 4-1 vote, Regalado casting the only lone vote. This is a great day for the City of Miami. Congratulations to the Mayor, city staff and DPZ for their hard work. Congratulations, Miami, you are taking your place in the annals of architectural and planning history. Bravo!

Great news!
Now is there a third and fourth reading, or does it go into effect at some point?
Nope, no more meetings. It is law!
Great news!!
great! =)
Very good. It’s amazing Regalado may be the next mayor but is completely unable to ever form coalitions.
I hope to hear more about Miami 21 moving forward.
This is truly a great day for the city of miami, and a testament to the diaz administration’s ability to boldly take on progressive issues of livability, sustainability. Stand tall today Miami.
Regalado’s vote against Miami 21 has solidified my decision to not vote for him in the mayoral election. We just can’t afford to have a dinosaur like him leading us in the 21st century. Miami’s progress will stall under his visionless leadership.
I am very proud of Miami today. Congratulations to all of those who worked for it.
I am looking forward to working on projects under the new code.
just up the height limit from 35 feet to 53 feet in the Mimo discrict
I couldn’t be happier about this. And the fact that other cities are adopting similar codes? Great.
Miami 21 was approved on 2nd and final hearing by city commission. Now the code changes made at commission must be incorporated as well as the other bike, landscape and green ordinances that will further strengthen the code. The city will finalize all negotiations with the state and then the NEW CODE and APPROVED EAR- Comp Plan will go into affect. City Commission set a time of 120 days for this to take place.
Congratulations Miami!
Excellent news!!
