Points to Obama for opposing the gas tax holiday, true kudos to President Bush for being in a position to veto it, and opposing it, the final word on the subject. As for more public transit funding, I still haven't heard any plan from Obama, and until I do, It'll still be empty words, promises without a plan, lipservice, etc.

I wonder why he would choose the unpopular position (nationally) against the gas-tax-holiday, and for more public transit funding, if these are "just empty words."

I mean, who knows whether they will be implemented well, or at all, but I think the spirit is in the right place, and at least he's talking about it instead of pulling the same old clinton-mccain pandering.

I'm not sure there is any substance behind his words either, but what caught my attention was that he publically recognized the conection between our oil addiction and the lack of transit in most cities. He might not have a plan. but at least he's talking about it, which is more than I can say about the other two suits.

At the risk of revealing my political affiliation, I have to say that these are more empty words from an empty suit..Not that McCain is any better, But where's Obama's program for increasing Federal Mass Transit funding, and by what formula?

Just more words for his adoring crowd (Who mostly showed up for a freee concert, anyway
