It may surprise some of you but it's actually possible to get around Pembroke Pines without a car, although it's very inconvenient. I saved so much money by getting rid of my car. I pay $20 a month for a bus pass and I bike to the stops. I use the bus to get to school and work. Biking is healthier too. I lost 10 pounds easily in a few months.

So at todays commission meeting the Mayor and Commission approved the creation of a B.A.C. or a Bicycle Advisory Committee. This is made up of people from Emerge Miami (known for their critical mass rides), and the Green Mobility network. I'm not sure all the others yet, but it was great to see the Mayor and Commissioners taking a positive stance on biking.

I have been commuting by bike for a little over a month. We have saved more than 200$ on fuel bills, and I can feel my fitness level increase. I started by biking/riding metrorail, but now I bike the whole 8 mile route, to and from work.
