While some may find a lamppost to be a mundane element in the urban landscape, it is yet another of the thousands of elements that create the complete aesthetic experience of our environment. This beautiful new lamppost design in Midtown Miami is another piece in the puzzle of the cool design mecca that is blossoming in Miami. Every single improvement reveals its significance in the final vision. Whether it is a newly planted tree or 70 story skyscraper.
Contrast these with the awful “Olde Towne” style lampposts that are being installed on Biscayne Blvd., in what’s supposed to be the MiMo district…
Now if only they had planned the retail area of Midtown to make it easier to get around without have to drive your car from place to place.
I got lost in the garage trying to get to Linens N Things. I saw it from my parking spot but once I got into the stairs, I got lost in the craziest labyrinth of mall back hallways (with no cell phone reception) only to come out about a 100 feet from where I expected.
PetSmart was my next stop, but since there is no easy way to get there, I had to pay for my parking, leave the garage and then head to the stores at the other end.
I go there only b/c there is no other big box options in the area.

Midtown looking good.They will find their way around traffic problems and parking issues..the whole thing looking stunning.
Any news about transit option that would link Midtwon to downtown, it would make it damned convenient?
So funny. My partner and I took a stroll around Mid-Town one evening last week, and we noticed how cool those streetlights are. Of course we didn’t imagine anyone else would notice!
The streetcar is appealing but may not be practical according to some. What’s really important is the railroad track that runs parallel to Midtown. It would be ideal for a metrorail or people mover expansion. Should this happen, it might benefit MM more than the street car plan. I just think the street car plan is more immediately implementable.
