Continuing Flawed Miami Mentality on urban living and the needs of downtown:
“But if Downtown Miami develops into a thriving retail hub as local leaders and stakeholders plan, the parking authority, as well as private operators, she said, are “going to have to step up to the plate to create more parking facilities.”
Even now, merchants have “expressed concerns about the lack of enough customer parking,” she said.”
What is this quote from, and how can I tell her she’s a fool with no vision?
The plan shouldn’t be to simply turn downtown into a retail hub, but a focal point for all types of activity — commercial, residential, etc.

Disgusting, wretched, nauseating…
Do these people wake up each morning, and think to themselves:
“How am I going to make Miami the most auto-centric, congested, unsustainable, unlivable city possible, using ass-backwards policies that contradict our own long-term ‘planning’ goals” or do they really just not know any better?
Could they really be THAT incompetent, that they don’t even understand the most basic principles of land-use, transportation, and urban design?
Do they just sit around and think to themselves, “Ha! We’ll spend billions to expand transit while simultaneously spending billions more to widen all our main roads and expressways and add MORE parking to our urban core!”?
Sigh.
I don’t think they think about expanding transit. Even the progressives out there are anti-transit. What does that tell you about the people we have in office?
Who is pushing the use of the FEC Corridor? That could be used for the people mover moving people north-south from Broward and Palm Beach Counties. And it is already there!
