Amidst the unprecedented building boom we are currently experiencing, one is left wondering what our beautiful urban paradise looked like while undergoing its first major growing pains. The Magic City, as we became to be known, sprung suddenly out of the ground from a sleepy laid back town. The vibrant growth came quickly and fiercely transformed Miami into the tropical metropolis we currently know it as. We did some research to see what and how Miami’s first major building boom may have looked like in the 1920s. The above photograph, taken in 1925, shows an emerging and soon to be bustling business district.
